Tips:
- Start small and work your way up
whenever I go full force and change my whole lifestyle all at once, I am never successful. I forget all of the things I wanted to do or not do and end up getting nothing done successfully. Try changing one or two things and build up from there.
- Set very specific goals
I like to set no more than 4 goals for myself at once. Make sure these goals are so specific that you are able to physically prove whether you met the goal or not. I also like to put a specific date on it to motivate me to get it done. Create steps and actions to achieve this goal and start working.
- Find a partner
it is so much easier to do something when you aren't alone. Get a partner to work out with or eat healthy with. Make a set schedule to meet each day or week to workout. Send pictures of your meals to each other. Whatever you need to do to stay motivated and accountable.
- Don't cheat yourself
It's ok to not be perfect all the time with your goals and action steps. One burger is not going to ruin your diet, and one missed workout won't ruin your progress. But if you allow your mindset to slack and you start to view your goals with less importance, you will not make it passed those "breaks". If you are going to allow yourself to eat something, make it still contribute to your goal in some way. Maybe you eat a burger but you eat it with the mindset that this burger will keep you from bingeing latter when you've had one too many salads. Don't eat the burger with resentment towards the diet.
- Stay in the habit
If you aren't feeling like working out, at least do something small to keep up the habit. You may need to take an easier workout for the day but by doing at least something, you are staying in the routine of your habits.
- Find discipline
You won't always be motivated, find discipline within yourself so that you can keep up the good work even when you don't feel like it.
- Remember why you have these goals
Without your passion and drive, you won't be able to keep pressing on through the hard times. When the journey gets tuff, and you don't remember why you're even doing it, you won't have anything stopping you from quitting.
- Make a schedule and stick to it
Try to workout and eat at the same times everyday so you body will learn to stick to your routine. At some point, you will feel weird if you don't workout at that time and your day will be thrown off. Make your goals a permanent part of your day so it seams more natural.
That's it for now, but come back every now and then to check for any updates to the list.
